Wilmington home sales up again in June
Market continues to see higher median prices, faster sales
Sure, some realtors around the country may be seeing negative trends because of the widespread effects of COVID-19, but in Wilmington, our tri-county market is surging.
The numbers for June are in and not only is the local housing market seeing year-over-year increases in median home prices and a decline in days on the market, but Keller Williams agents are witnessing jumps in listings sold.
“We have not slowed down at all throughout the lockdowns and phased re-openings,” said Andrea Arth, a Keller Williams agent and owner of Arth Real Estate Group. “If anything we are doing a higher volume of business than in years past. There is an immense interest in our area from out-of-town residents who want to relocate or buy second properties in Wilmington, Carolina Beach and Wrightsville Beach.”
Arth also explained that residents are spending so much time in their homes this summer, a number of Wilmington residents are looking to finally pull the trigger on upgrading their home or trading in for a new home in a planned development community.
The tri-county area saw a median increase in home sales prices by 4.1%, year-over-year for the month of June. Pending sales were up by a whopping 54%, according to the Cape Fear Realtors Association.
Above those solid numbers, Keller Williams agents continue to outpace the market. Agents had an 11 percent growth in contracts for January through June, year-over-year and a 4.9% increase in listings sold for the same period.
“The influx of people to our area means the market continues to be robust with inventory selling at faster rates,” Arth said. “I would love to help homebuyers and sellers move quickly in this fast-paced market. I am never too busy for your referral.” – Andrea Arth
