Why you should consider settling down in this Wilmington neighborhood

It is daunting to narrow down which community in Wilmington you want to settle down in. But, I happen to know of one neighborhood in an arm’s reach of all other neighborhoods — Pine Valley. If you settle down in Pine Valley, you’ll find about everything you need within a 15-minute drive. Beaches? Less than 15 minutes. Downtown? A 15-minute drive. Want to spend the day on your boat off Masonboro Sound or go shopping at Mayfaire? You guessed it — those are both about four songs on the radio away. 

There are also financial benefits to living in this area. We’ve seen home values go up at a margin higher than other communities in Wilmington, likely because of the reasons we just mentioned. The proximity to everything else in town is perfect. This may be the best place for a return on investment of flipping a home with cosmetic details since many homes here are older ranch-style homes or even from the 1990s and early 2000s.

Within Pine Valley itself, however, there are plenty of gems you won’t have to travel for at all. Here are some of our favorite things in Pine Valley:

Pine Valley Market

We love grabbing lunch or a take-and-bake dinner at Pine Valley Market. Chef Christi Ferretti heads up this local’s favorite where you can find soups, sandwiches, and salads in the cafe. Grab lots of goods from the restaurant’s to-go fridges like sausages, pasta, casseroles, and lasagnas big enough to feed a big family gathering.

Halyburton Park

This park is another hidden gem of Wilmington with a few miles of walking trails, a playground, and even a nature center. Children and families will love the center where they can view reptiles and get information on bird watching. Walk for miles around wetlands and woods all in shade covering.

Pine Valley Country Club

Golfers will feel right at home in this area of Wilmington, where many homes sit right on the fairways of Pine Valley Country Club’s golf course. This course is one of our favorites — you can see a roundup of local courses right here. 

There are many reasons to check out this charming community while on the search for your dream home. Nestled in the heart of Wilmington, Pine Valley offers a secluded nature feel in addition to ease of access to all of the cities conveniences. You won’t want to overlook this one!
