Pumpkin Patches Around Wilmington, NC

Planning on taking the whole family out for a fun day of pumpkin picking and apple cider drinking? Wilmington pumpkin patches are open and ready for business in 2020.

Here are a few of the best places to go and soak up the great weather we have in a North Carolina October:

Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church (1401 S. College Road)

This pumpkin patch may be one of Wilmington’s most enduring — it started in 1990 and for many Wilmington families October just wouldn’t be the same without a visit to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. This year, the patch will open Oct. 17 and remain open 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 7 p.m. on the weekends.
Visit up until Oct. 31 or until supplies run out.

Barr Evergreens (2715 Shipyard Blvd.)

This Western North Carolina family farm brings pumpkins and Christmas trees to Wilmington each year at the corner of Shipyard and Independence. Find one of the biggest selections in the area here with plenty of space for the family to roam around, take photos and pick out pumpkins and gourds.
The patch opened in September. Visit daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Port City Produce Wilmington, NC

Port City Produce (5740 Market St.)

Head to Port City Produce to shop more than 30 varieties of pumpkins and shop around for this week’s groceries. This year the stand is hosting some fall treats like fried Oreos and funnel cakes.
Open daily from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (6 p.m. on Sundays)

Hampstead United Methodist (15395 Highway 17, Hampstead)

A pumpkin patch nestled under the live oak trees, this Hampstead church’s longtime fundraiser has been the location for family memories and photos for more than a decade. The pumpkins come from a Navajo reservation where a portion of proceeds help combat the high unemployment rate. The church’s youth group works at the patch to help raise funds for local organizations, outreach projects and missions.
The patch is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays. Join in each Saturday for the “pumpkin toss” where dozens of volunteers all jump into an assembly line and unload thousands of pumpkins onto the church lawn.

Fall headfirst into fall and check out Wilmington’s pumpkin patches!
