Staying in Wilmington? Try Out These New Boutique Hotels

2020 Travelers should look no further than the Wilmington boutique hotel experience.

As of 2020, downtown Wilmington has not one, but two boutique hotels.

The beauty of the boutique hotel is it has the amenities and polished feel of a corporate hotel with all the personal touches of a bed and breakfast.

These hotels have a smaller capacity at around 10-50 rooms, have amenities, and a more vibrant, designer-centric feel. The design elements are also more upscale, so these spots are perfect for weekend getaways, staycations, and more.

Here are two boutique hotels downtown to check out this holiday season:

The Hive Wilmington

The Hive’s unique one-of-a-kind design obliterates the cookie-cutter feel of corporate hotel rooms. Set in a renovated downtown building on Second Street, each of the 14 apartment-style suites is different from the next. The Hive also has a restaurant with plans to be operational in the future.

Amenities here include luxury linens, WiFi, 24/7 self-check-in, on-site laundry, reverse osmosis water taps, paid off-street parking, personalized service, and a high-tech fitness center.

ARRIVE Wilmington

The ARRIVE brand, with its flagship location in Austin, Texas, opened ARRIVE Wilmington in 2019. This space is a renovated 1950s era convent that even houses a secret confessional. For bites and drinks, ARRIVE has its own outdoor lounge and bar spaces. One of the main attractions is the hotel’s own restaurant Dram Yard – serving modern, world cuisine made with locally-sourced ingredients.

Amenities in each room include Apple TVs, linen robes, bath goods, and fitness baskets that include yoga mats and weights.

There are three types of rooms at ARRIVE. Find mini rooms, suites, and even a luxurious loft complete with a kitchen, TV den, and private street-access door.

During the pandemic, ARRIVE has offered a special deal to guests road-tripping to one or more of its properties. The more ARRIVE hotels you visit, the cheaper your rates get. So consider a cross-country road trip and learn more here.
