Summer Festivals You Don’t Want to Miss in Wilmington

We've compiled our list of summer festivals and concert series coming to Wilmington, North Carolina that you don't want to miss!

From the new Live Oak Bank Pavilion, our many dive bars, Greenfield Lake Amphitheater, and more — we have a robust music scene happening in our port city. As for summer music events, we rounded up a few of our favorites that combine the salty air, great views, and affordable prices. Here are the music festivals you don’t want to miss and events in the Wilmington area for Summer 2022.

Friday Night Live! and Saturday Sunset Series

The Pier at Port City Marina will host a new Friday night series called Friday Night Live!. The series will include nine scheduled tribute bands from a range of genres. 

A Saturday Sunset Series, hosted by Marina Grill, will host local and regional musicians. The series will run from April through October, with dates omitted due to Live Nation events next door. 

Airlie Concert Series

The Airlie Concert Series brings together wonderful musicians and great views of the live oak tree at the heart of the garden. This series runs from June to August, so pick out some dates, buy a ticket and bring your own blanket. 

Sounds of Summer Concerts

WECT will present Sounds of Summer Concerts in the Park at Wrightsville Beach Park every Thursday throughout June and July. Bring your own picnic, lawn chairs, and blankets for an evening of local bands and fun. While coolers are welcome, alcohol is prohibited in the park. Check out the schedule here.

Port City Music Festival

The Port City Music Festival is on a mission to bring live classical music to anyone and everyone. So, with free admission, you can experience any of the seven scheduled events held around the area this June.

Carolina Beach Music Festival

More than 700 tickets have already been sold for the 2022 Carolina Beach Music Festival, but you can still grab yours. 

The Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce will host the 36th annual festival Saturday, June 4th on the beach at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. ‘Shaggers’ of all ages can enjoy live entertainment with a great lineup.

You’ll listen to Jim Quick and Coastline, Band of Oz, and The North Tower. This is one of the longest-running beach festivals in the U.S so you can be part of history. Tickets begin at $35 for advance tickets and $40 at the gate. 

Southport Summer Concert Series

The popular Southport Summer Concert Series in Southport is back for 2022. So be sure to bring chairs and enjoy music every Thursday night this summer beginning at 6 p.m. under the majestic oak trees in Franklin Square Park with scheduled events from June through September.
