Recently someone shared with me on Facebook a new hidden gem find I’m thrilled about — a little furniture shop on Castle Street in Wilmington’s Arts and Antiques District. I knew our community was filled with resale furniture shops, but I learn about new spots each week it seems.
Here are some of my favorite antique and resale furniture spots around the area, plus a few suggested by friends:
High Tide Home
Find lots of coastal decor at High Tide Home, in addition to buffet tables, end tables, desks, china cabinets, and more. Many furniture pieces here have a coastal feel and color palate.
Miss Carla’s Oldies and Goodies, Hampstead
Turnover is quick at Miss Carla’s, where resale furniture is in a wide range of styles and colors. Large china cabinets, secretaries, dining tables, and an array of chairs are all waiting for homes at Miss Carla’s.
Anchored Home
New upholstered furniture is tricky to find in Wilmington at an affordable price, but Anchored Home has a great selection. Anchored Home has new upholstered beds, chairs, sofas, and plenty of styles and fabric options for any customer.
Recollections Vintage Village, Carolina Beach
I love this place and always stop on my way to Carolina Beach to see what’s new. This is the only Vintage Village in Wilmington with plenty of art, vintage furniture, decor, and more. There are custom-made furniture pieces as well.
Uptown Market
At Uptown Market find an expansive space in the Porters Neck-Ogden with many different styles and interior inspiration. Wander through a multi-vendor shop with painted furniture, custom-made tables, decor, and jewelry. Furniture-wise, there is a selection of dressers, buffet tables, dining tables, and side tables.
Decades of Decor
A hot tip from Facebook is that Decades of Decor has a great selection of Midcentury Modern furniture — something not very common in an area that loves its coastal farmhouse vibes.
Legacy Architectural Salvage
On Saturdays, Legacy Architectural Salvage is a great wander-around. Stop by and take in some of the random furniture pieces among architectural salvage pieces like doors, windows, and trim pieces.
