A Few of Our Favorites in Downtown Wilmington

A few of our favorite restaurants, shopping, and things to do in downtown Wilmington, NC.

Whether I am out shopping the farmer’s markets or dining with friends, my mission in life is to highlight all the incredible small businesses around our region that make the area so vibrant.

I’m actually a downtown dweller, so I spend a great deal of time exploring and enjoying the scenery.

Caprice Bistro, downtown Wilmington

My happy place: Caprice Bistro. This is one of the first places I fell in love with downtown and I return on Tuesdays for their curried mussels — absolute heaven. Caprice Bistro is near and dear to my heart. This is also one of my favorite places to go and grab a martini. Head to the bar upstairs and ask for one — tell them I sent you!

Grocery shopping: Check out the Riverfront Farmer’s Market every Saturday morning. Don’t forget to bring your dog — this place is especially pet friendly. I buy homemade candles, get garden-fresh tomatoes and I always grab a cup of warm coffee.

My favorite activity with friends to really celebrate: A trip around town on the Trolley Pub. Read all about our team’s latest experience on the pub here.

When I want to see downtown from a new vantage point: A cruise on the water pub. I like this one in particular, but all are a joy.

My favorite rooftop bar for incredible sunsets: I am all about some crafted cocktails at Cloud 9.

For when I want to do a deep dive into history: The local paper has a wonderful podcast all about it. Check out Cape Fear Unearthed.

Favorite place I haven’t actually haven’t visited yet? Have you heard about the new amphitheater on the water? A number of big-named artists on already on the lineup for shows this summer and I wrote about that right here.
